Newest Army Corps survey vessel performs maiden rescue in Chesapeake Bay
After rescuing a boater from his disabled vessel in the Chesapeake Bay Thursday April 5, 2018, the crew of Survey Vessel CATLETT brought him back to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ facility at Fort McHenry where local emergency medical services personnel assisted him further. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers crews of the CATLETT was conducting a routine condition survey of the Tolchester Channel when she responded to a mayday call, rescuing the boater from his disabled vessel in the Chesapeake Bay.
