Dan Noble speaks to the Rotary Club of Washington, D.C.
Dan Noble, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District project manager, spoke to the Rotary Club of Washington, D.C. June 18. Noble presented information on the Corps of Engineers 21-year history of work at the Spring Valley Formerly Used Defense Site in northwest Washington. Work has included removal of arsenic-contaminated soil, munitions removal and groundwater monitoring. Noble explained to the attendees that the Corps of Engineers will soon be presenting the draft remedial investigation report for public comment. This report will outline all of the work that has been done at the site and what further actions are proposed. Shaun English, the club president, presented Noble with a certificate of appreciation, indicating the club will plant a tree in his honor as part of Trees for the Capital.
