Collapsed channel wall, York, Pa.
An approximately 20-foot-wide section of channel wall that collapsed into Codorus Creek immediately upstream of the Philadelphia Street Bridge in York, Pennsylvania, July 26, 2018. This wall is part of the Army Corps Codorus Creek flood risk management project, but its purpose is to keep water within the channel, not reduce flooding. It is not part of a levee or floodwall.
