Corps’ Forward Engineer Support Team returns from deployment

BALTIMORE - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District welcomed home members of the 71st Engineer Detachment Forward Engineer Support Team – Advance (FEST-A) after seven months in Afghanistan, Jan. 23.  The seven member team included both active duty military and civilian personnel.

 

“The Corps is very proud of our team, who has sacrificed time away from their lives and families for the good of our mission,” said Col. Jordan.  “They efforts have made a positive difference in Afghanistan and their contributions will have lasting effects.”

 

The FEST-A team is an asset of the Corps that can deploy to anywhere their expertise is needed.  The FEST-A is an adaptable team and can accomplish technical engineer assistance, design, engineer planning, infrastructure surveys, construction estimates, material listings and cost estimating for projects. 

 

During their deployment, the team executed 100 projects during their deployment. Prior to the deployment to Afghanistan, the team recently deployed in support of military exercises in Thailand and South Korea.
