Corps of Engineers announces relocation of Baltimore District Headquarters

Published June 17, 2016

BALTIMORE — General Services Administration (GSA) Mid-Atlantic Region has awarded a 15-year (10 firm) lease contract to BE, 2&10 LLC, for 143,000 rentable square feet of space located at 2 Hopkins Plaza, for relocation of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Baltimore District Headquarters.

More than 600 Corps employees will relocate from their current leased space at the City Crescent Building, located at 10 S. Howard St., which has served as the District’s headquarters since 1993.

The relocation is scheduled for early 2018, and will represent a space reduction of approximately 20 percent for the organization.

"Over the past two years, the Corps' project development team worked closely with GSA to define our organizational requirements and identify ways to operate more efficiently in a smaller footprint,” said Robin Sakin, Baltimore District, realty specialist. “We think that the space at 2 Hopkins Plaza will be a perfect fit, and we're looking forward to the next phase of creating a design that will update and modernize our workspace."
