Raystown Lake announces additional dam tours

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has added additional Raystown dam tour dates in June and July, after tours scheduled for June 6 and June 7 were booked to capacity within hours of the initial announcement.

Additional tours will be now be offered June 13, June 20, June 27, July 11, July 18, and July 25.   Three tours will be offered on each of the scheduled dates at 12 p.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. 

The guided tours, led by Raystown park rangers, will include access to the spillway, interior galleries, and include information on lake history, operations, and local heritage. 

Persons participating in a tour must provide government issued photo identification (driver’s license, passport, school ID, etc.).  Visitors aged 15 years and younger are not required to have identification, but they must be accompanied on the tour by an adult (18 years or older).  Cameras, cell phones, handbags, backpacks, briefcases, etc., will not be permitted on the tour and storage of these items will not be provided. 

Please note that all participates must be able to negotiate over 120 stairs and walk upwards of 300 yards.  Children of any walking age are permitted – for your safety, visitors may not carry children on the tour.
