Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.



Submitting Comments:

To send email comments to the respective Project Manager, click on the Project Manager's name below, or contact the Regulatory Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, 2 Hopkins Plaza., Baltimore, MD 21201. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

PN 15-03 (Maintenance Dredging, Knapps Narrows, Tilghman Island) - Talbot County - 4/21/2015: PN 15-03 – April 17, 2015 Description: The proposed work consists of dredging the Knapps Narrows Channel at Tilghman Island to its authorized depth of 9 feet (MLLW), plus two feet of allowable overdepth, and a width of 74 feet. PN 15-27 (PPL Bell Bend, LLC/Bell Bend Nuclear Power Plant) - Luzerne County - 4/17/2015: PN 15-27 Comment period April 17, 2015 to July 1, 2015. Description: The purpose of this public notice is to announce the release and availability of the draft environmental impact statement (DEIS), prepared by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps). This DEIS is a proposal by PPL Bell Bend, LLC to construct the Bell Bend Nuclear Power Plant located approximately five miles northwest of Berwick, near the west bank of the Susquehanna River, in Salem Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. CENAB-OP-N-15-02 Baltimore Harbor and Channels, Maryland - Proposed Maintenance Dredging of the Fort McHenry Channel, Seagrit Channel West, Brewerton - 4/6/2015: The Baltimore District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposes to perform maintenance dredging of the Baltimore Harbor & Channels Federal navigation project during calendar years 2015 and 2016.
