		<description>A drill rig crew from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District extracted core samples here today that are being closely examined by Nashville District geologists at Center Hill Lake near what is known as the Saddle Dam. However, the exploratory drilling is revealing more than just the condition of rock formations; it's also bringing out the benefits of the two districts partnering together to explore the movement of water seepage through the karst geology in the area.</description>

		<title>Army engineers assess Wyoming Valley Levee System</title>
		<description> In the immediate aftermath of high water resulting from Tropical Storm Lee, Baltimore District Commander Col. Dave Anderson and engineers from the Baltimore District conducted a preliminary assessment of the Wyoming Valley Levee System today. Early indications show that the system performed as designed, holding back water that reached as high as 42.66 at its peak, a full 1.75 feet higher than Hurricane Agnes, which reached 40.91 feet in 1972. </description>

Raystown Lake is one of fourteen flood control lakes operated by the Baltimore District of the Corps of Engineers.  It was also announced that the Seven Points Recreation Area would be, in the interest of public safety, closed at 4:00 P.M., on 9 September 2011 because the main roadway serving the Seven Points Area would become flooded.</description>
