Corps to Close Howell Run Boat Launch on 1 October

A new status information line has been installed at the lake that will allow you to get up-to-date information on the lake conditions, local weather forecast and other pertinent lake related information. The number to call is 304-355-2890.

Recreation Information:   General recreation related information such as facilities, area opening and closing schedules, maps and fishing/hunting information.

What's Happening at the Lake:  Special events at the lake such as whitewater release schedules. Also included, you will find miscellaneous information, i.e., improvements to existing facilities, Jennings Randolph Lake Newsletter, hiking trails and camping information.

Local Points of Interest:  This section offers a glimpse of the many points of interest in the local area surrounding Jennings Randolph Lake. Most of the locations are within an hour drive of the lake and include facilities and activities that are varied enough to interest all of our visitors.

Project Location:   The project is located on the North Branch Potomac River in Garrett County, MD, and Mineral County, WV, approximately eight miles upstream of Bloomington, MD, and approximately five miles north of Elk Garden, WV. Driving directions can be found here.

Authorization:  The project was authorized by the Flood Control Act of Oct. 23, 1962 (Public Law 87-874) and is described in House Document No. 469, 87th Congress, second session.
