Jennings Randolph Lake hosts annual cleanup event, seeks volunteers

Published May 30, 2013

Jennings Randolph Lake, W.Va. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jennings Randolph Lake and the Friends of Jennings Randolph invite the public to take part in the third annual Jennings Randolph Lake cleanup event, Saturday, June 15.

Volunteers are greatly needed -- especially those who own boats -- to help provide for an efficient and effective cleanup effort.  Volunteers who plan to be part of the boating efforts are asked to bring a life jacket, otherwise one will be provided.

Volunteers will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Howell Run boat launch for safety briefing and instructions. Rangers will shuttle trash and volunteers between sections of the lake.  Trash bags and gloves will be provided.

The cleanup should not last longer than three hours. Due to the rocky shoreline, wearing of proper footwear and appropriate clothing is recommended. Life jackets are also recommended.  Refreshments and snacks will be provided to volunteers after the event.

For more information, contact the park office at 304-355-2346, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or visit
