Corps, MDE host public information forum on Harris Creek Oyster Restoration

BALTIMORE - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District (Corps) and the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) are holding a public information forum about the Harris Creek Oyster Restoration project at Easton High School on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 from 6-9 p.m.  The Maryland Department of Natural Resources proposed the project. If inclement weather occurs, the meeting will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at the same time and location.  Easton High School is located at 723 Mecklenburg Avenue, Easton, Md.

The purpose of the forum is to combine a Corps public information meeting with MDE’s public information hearing to provide members of the public the opportunity to present views, opinions, and information.  All information presented will be considered by the Corps and MDE in evaluating the permit application.

A poster session/display will be available from 6-7 p.m., where project drawings can be reviewed. Agency representatives will also be available to answer questions.  From 7-9 p.m., a project presentation will be given followed by public testimony.
