In coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Jennings Randolph Lake, the Friends of Jennings Randolph Lake will host their second annual 3-D Archery Tournament at the Archery Range in the Robert W. Craig Campground Sat., August 15th beginning at 9:30 a.m.
This 3-D archery course, one of a kind for the area, features 15 life-size animal targets set in the woods to present a realistic hunting situation or in this case a competition.
Jennings Randolph Lake was one of the recipients of the Handshake Partnership Program funding. The lake joined 13 local partners to work together to provide the opportunity to practice, teach, and develop archery skills.
“Our goal is to expand the course to include a total of 30 targets and 4 ADA compliant archery shooting lanes to provide educational opportunities and usage for all ability levels,” said Bill Donnellan, Jennings Randolph lake Ranger.
“With the development of this course, we hope to generate a higher appreciation for archery and be a conduit for getting people outdoors,” said Donnellan.
The registration will take place at the group pavilion located in the campground close to the archery range and basketball court. Entry fee will be $10.00 per person Rules will be reviewed prior to the start of the event. Food and refreshments will be available.
