Cowanesque Lake (USACE South Shore) Disc Golf Course

The USACE South Shore Disc Golf Course is a public, 18-hole course located on the south side of Cowanesque Lake in the South Shore Recreation Area near Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania. It’s nestled alongside scenic lakeshore terrain and is free to play, open to all skill levels. 

Terrain & Layout

The course weaves through a blend of open fields and lightly wooded sections, providing a variety of shot types—from long open drives to more controlled approaches through trees. 
The elevation is generally gentle with some moderate hills, making the course suitable for beginners while still offering strategic elements for more experienced players. 
With a total length of around 5,400 feet, most holes fall in the 200–400 ft range, with a couple of longer tee shots that reward distance and accuracy. 

Difficulty & Style

Designed as a beginner-friendly course with some added challenges, this layout helps new players learn the sport while giving intermediate players opportunities to practice varied shot shapes. 
The mix of open and wooded fairways keeps play engaging without being overly technical, and the course’s routing through the park scenery enhances the recreational experience. 

Amenities & Access

There’s convenient parking and easy access from State Route 49, just west of Lawrenceville. The course is walkable without mandatory cart use, though some areas may be more comfortable with a trolley for gear. Comfortable conditions and typical park facilities make for a relaxed round in a natural lakeside setting.
