Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number.   • PN16-68 (WILLIAMS GAS PIPELINE/ATLANTIC SUNRISE PROJECT) - 2014-00475

    PN16-68 Comment period is December 21, 2016 to January 20, 2017 Description: The purpose of this Public Notice is to construct, install, and operate the project facilities to provide an incremental 1.7 million dekatherms per day of year-round firm transportation capacity from Marcellus Shale production areas in northern Pennsylvania to their existing market areas, extending to the Station 85 Pooling Point in Choctaw County, Alabama. The project also includes modifications to the existing Transco Mainline system to reverse the direction of flow, enabling new north-to-south capabilities (bi-directional flow) to transport this new source of natural gas to existing markets.   • PN 15-29 (Brushville Lake Dam Project) - Susquehanna County

    Expiration date: 5/5/2015

    PN15-29 - Comment period May 6, 2015 to June 5, 2015 DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this public notice is to reconstruct Brushville Lake Dam by installing/constructing: (1) an earthen dam with a clay core; (2) a reinforced concrete spillway; (3) a 24 inches x 36 inches concrete culvert box with gate valve; (4) rip rap protection; (5) multiple deep pool areas within the original impoundment area for the creation of aquatic habitat and a deep pool for diving; and (6) the creation of two islands within the lake area.   • PN14-22 (PA DOT - SR 0029, Section LEE - Emergency Slide) Susquehanna County, PA

    PN-14-22 the comment period is April 2, 2014 to April 17, 2014. Susquehanna County, PA DESCRIPTION: The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Engineering District 4-0 (PA DOT 4-0) is proposing to reconstruct a 600 linear foot section of S.R. 0029 along Snake Creek, in Liberty Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, due to an underlying slope failure caused by inadequate drainage and fluvial forces associated with the existing steep hillside slope on the east side of the roadway.
