Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

Submitting Comments:

To send email comments to the respective Project Manager, click on the Project Manager's name below, or contact the Regulatory Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, 2 Hopkins Plaza., Baltimore, MD 21201. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

Finding of No Significant Impact - Shallow Water Oyster Restoration in Harris Creek Oyster Sanctuary, Maryland - 3/20/2014: The Baltimore District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE-Baltimore) is proposing to extend oyster reef restoration into shallower water depths than has previously been performed by the USACE.

PN14-16 (MD DNR/Alternate Materials/Little Choptank River/Shallow Water) 2007-03659-M36 Maryland Tidal Wetlands No. 14-WL-0104/201362125 - Dorchester Co. - 3/14/2014: PN14-16 the comment period is March 14, 2014 to May 9, 2014 – Dorchester County DESCRIPTION: Restore natural oyster bars using approximately 327,694 cubic yards of alternate materials substrate with spat on shell and spat on shell throughout approximately 320.11-acres of the Little Choptank River. Alternate materials will be used as an up to 12-inch base within water depths ranging from approximately 6- to 9-feet MLLW; spat on shell only will be placed with water depths ranging from approximately 4- to 9-feet MLLW.
