Army officer descends into water basin at Washington Aqueduct
Capt. Kelly Giraud, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, descends into a water basin at the Dalecarlia facility, part of the Washington Aqueduct in Washington, D.C. Giraud works with Aqueduct personnel on confined space safety and rescue procedures. She is a 15-year Army veteran, and Laurel, Md., native, and was the 17th female to earn the Army Sapper tab, completing the training in 2010.
