Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

Submitting Comments:

To send email comments to the respective Project Manager, click on the Project Manager's name below, or contact the Regulatory Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, 2 Hopkins Plaza., Baltimore, MD 21201. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

  • PN 19-02 CENAB-OPR-P (SHEPPARD RESERVOIR MAINTENANCE) 2018-02269 ADAMS COUNTY, MARYLAND

    PN19-02 comment period is January 15, 2019 – February 14, 2019 Description: The applicant is proposing to mechanically dredge accumulated sediment from an existing 9.6 acre reservoir located on an unnamed tributary to South Branch Conewago Creek, which requires construction of a temporary access road impacting 0.004 acres to PEM wetlands. The project will also temporarily impact 41 linear feet of three UNTs to South Branch Conewago Creek. The project is located in Union Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania.   • PN 16-60 Comment Period for Renovo Natural Gas Powered Power Plant, Clinton County, Pennsylvania

    Expiration date: 12/3/2016

    CENAB-OPR-P-2016-01006-P05: Renovo Energy Center LLC proposes to develop a two-unit, gas-fired power plant with expected net output of approximately 950 megawatts. The power plant will be located in Renovo Borough, Pennsylvania, several hundred yards north of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The applicant is proposing to complete compensatory mitigation for the project by enhancing 5,825 linear feet of Kettle Creek. POC: Marion Gall at 814-235-1761, marion.gall@usace.army.mil.

    2016-61278-M07 MDE, Nontidal Wetlands and Waterways 201661278/16-NT-0297/AI153609 MD DNR CASE NUMBER FCA S14-07 - 11/2/2016: The purpose of PN16-59 is to announce the extension of the MTA/Purple Line public notice comment period until Dec. 2, 2016. DESCRIPTION: MTA proposes to construct a 16.2-mile light-rail transit line, known as the Purple Line, from Bethesda Metro Station in Montgomery County to New Carrollton Station in Prince George’s County, Maryland.   • SPN16-25 (Expiration of Regional General Permit-1 and Reinstatement of Nationwide Permit 48 with mods for Maryland aquaculture activities)

    Expiration date: 6/1/2016

    Description: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, is requesting comments until May 31, 2016, on proposed changes to the current aquaculture permitting process. Proposed changes include allowing unlimited project acreage for qualifying aquaculture activities under Nationwide Permit 48 and a concurrent review process with Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The existing Regional General Permit for aquaculture activities in Maryland, which has been effective for the past five years, expires August 15, 2016. Baltimore District’s Regulatory Branch proposes to reinstate Nationwide Permit 48, Aug. 16, 2016, for new aquaculture activities with the goal of making the permit process more efficient.
