Newest Army Corps survey vessel performs maiden rescue in Chesapeake Bay
A disabled boat floats in the waters of the Chesapeake Bay as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers crew of Survey Vessel CATLETT approaches during a rescue operation Thursday April 5, 2018. The CATLETT’s crew was conducting a routine condition survey of the Tolchester Channel when she responded to a mayday call, rescuing a boater in the disabled vessel and bringing him back to the Corps of Engineers’ facility at Fort McHenry where local emergency medical services assisted him further.
