Newest Army Corps survey vessel performs maiden rescue in Chesapeake Bay
A disabled boat is visible from the wheelhouse of Survey Vessel CATLETT in the waters of the Chesapeake Bay as the CATLETT approaches during a rescue operation Thursday April 5, 2018. The CATLETT’s U.S. Army Corps of Engineers crew was conducting a routine condition survey of the Tolchester Channel when she responded to a mayday call, rescuing a boater in the disabled vessel and bringing him back to the Corps of Engineers’ facility at Fort McHenry where local emergency medical services assisted him further.
