The Indian Rock Dam is firmly positioned in southern Pennsylvania, where Codorus Creek drifts through the countryside. Steve Young, a seasoned veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, has more than 40 years of dedicated service at the helm of this critical infrastructure. Within the operational heart of Indian Rock Dam is a visitor logbook maintained since 1963. Spanning about 80 pages with more than 2,250 individual visits recorded, the book captures a historical essence of the dam’s role beyond the core function of flood management.
