Raystown Lake boat launch closures to start Nov. 18

Published Nov. 18, 2016

RAYSTOWN LAKE, Pennsylvania The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Raystown Lake has closed Aitch Boat Launch and Weaver Falls Boat Launch due to low lake surface water elevations resulting from a lack in precipitation.

Boaters planning to use the lake are warned to be especially observant for potential underwater hazards that may be exposed due to lower lake levels. The Corps encourages using life jackets while on the lake and reminds boaters that life jacket mandatory wear is in effect until April 30th on boats less than 16 feet in length.

Boaters can still gain access to Raystown Lake by using the boat launches at Seven Points, James Creek, Tatman Run, Snyder’s Run, and Shy Beaver.
