RAYSTOWN LAKE, Pa. --
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, will close Raystown Lake's Mountain Bike Skills Park for the winter season on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022. The Skills Park is scheduled to reopen in April 2023 for the start of the new recreation season.
The scheduled closure helps maintain the park's tread for future accessible and safe use and also provides time to conduct maintenance repairs, as needed.
In addition, the Friends of Raystown Lake has announced that the entire Allegrippis Trail System will be closed to all bicycle and other non-foot traffic during Pennsylvania deer rifle season, Nov. 26 - Dec. 10. The Allegrippis Trails System will close on Friday, Nov. 25 and reopen Sunday, Dec. 11.
The Skills Park is operated in cooperation with the Friends of Raystown Lake, a non-profit group working to promote environmental and recreational improvements at Raystown Lake. The Skills Park provides a training and practice area for users to improve mountain biking skills before venturing onto the Allegrippis Trails.
