U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces Mountain Bike Skills Park & Allegrippis Trail Closures

USACE, Baltimore
Published Nov. 27, 2024

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District, has closed Raystown Lake's Mountain Bike Skills Park for the winter season. The Skills Park is scheduled to reopen in April 2025 for the start of the new recreation season. The scheduled closure helps maintain the park's tread for future accessible and safe use and provides time to conduct maintenance repairs, as needed.

In addition, the Friends of Raystown Lake has announced that the entire Allegrippis Trail System will be closed to all bicycle and other non-foot traffic during Pennsylvania Whitetail deer rifle season; Friday, November 29 – December 15, 2024. The closure of the Allegrippis trail system will occur again for the newly announced extended rifle season; Wednesday, January 1 – Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

The scheduled closure helps ensure the safety of all park visitors and hunters within the area. USACE urges all visitors to always wear orange when in open hunting areas, to be aware of your surroundings, and to positively identify your target.
