Opening of Recreation Areas at Tioga-Hammond & Cowanesque Lakes

The US Army Corps of Engineers at Tioga-Hammond and Cowanesque Lakes announce the opening of various recreation areas for the 2013 recreation season.

The Lambs Creek boat launch, courtesy dock, comfort stations and picnic area at Tioga Lake are scheduled to open on Sunday, April 1, 2013. 

The Ives Run Campground and Day Use area at Hammond Lake and the South Shore Recreation area at Cowanesque Lake are scheduled to open Saturday, April 20, 2013.  Courtesy docks will be in place at all boat launches on that date.

From April 20 to May 14, camping will be by RESERVATION ONLY.  The campground office will not open until May 15.  Hawthorn Bathhouse and Pine Camp will be the only Ives Run campground restrooms open until May 15.  Mooring slips will be available for rent beginning May 15 as well.

The Tompkins Campground at Cowanesque Lake is scheduled to open on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

The 2013 Annual Day Use Pass is now available for purchase at the Ives Run Recreation Area Visitor Information Center.  The pass costs $30.  There is a 50 percent discount for holders of the Golden Age, Golden Access and the America the Beautiful ─ National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior or Access Pass.
