  • Army Corps Announces Lease Available for Tioga-Hammond and Cowanesque Lakes, Ives Run Camp Store Concession

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, is accepting proposals for the Ives Run Recreation Area Concession lease until Monday, Jan. 31, 2022. The ten-year lease agreement encompasses the operation of the Ives Run camp store and campground laundry facility. In addition, the successful applicant will have the option to offer boat rentals.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District (USACE), will open Ives Run Campground from May 1, 2021, until Oct. 31, 2021. The Cowanesque Lake, Tompkins Campground, will open from May 15, 2021, until Labor Day. USACE reminds all visitors, volunteers and employees to wear a face mask in all USACE buildings and facilities or outdoors if physical distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Army Corps announces Tioga-Hammond and Cowanesque Lakes closures and updates

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, will close Ives Run Campground, the Ives Run camp store and the South Shore concessionaire from Oct. 31, 2020 to May 1, 2021, in conjunction with the end of the 2020 recreation season. Additionally, the Lambs Creek Recreation Area boat launch is closed until further notice due to low lake surface water elevations resulting from a lack in precipitation.
  • Army Corps announces changes to recreation area campground closures

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District will close recreation area campgrounds earlier than originally planned due to the current lack of an appropriations bill. Since the government shutdown started, the District has been routinely monitoring fiscal year 2013 funds in order to minimize the public’s impact and adhere to their normal closing date schedule. However, with those funds uncertain past October 31, two timelines have been adjusted in order to winterize facilities.
