    Baltimore District public affairs specialists recognized with USACE, Army awards

    Whether responding to historic challenges like the 2024 Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse by coordinating the critical salvage of debris from the harbor, or constructing modern barracks to support service members, the district is constantly at work behind the scenes to keep communities safe, connected, and prosperous. Bringing these vital stories to light is the mission of a specialized team within the district, the Public Affairs Office. The Public Affairs team works to inform, engage, and educate both local communities and internal teams through strategic communications.

    Raystown Lake to enforce Pack-It-In, Pack-It-Out policy starting with 2026 recreation season

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District, will transition Raystown Lake’s recreation areas to a Pack-it-in, Pack-it-out policy, effective Mar. 25, 2026. Dumpsters at most of Raystown’s recreation areas will be removed, and day-use visitors should be prepared to remove all trash they bring into the flood risk management project — including food waste, packaging, and other refuse — and dispose of it at home.

    USACE Baltimore District Strengthens Partnership with Veteran Foundation
