    Raystown Lake to enforce Pack-It-In, Pack-It-Out policy starting with 2026 recreation season

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District, will transition Raystown Lake’s recreation areas to a Pack-it-in, Pack-it-out policy, effective Mar. 25, 2026. Dumpsters at most of Raystown’s recreation areas will be removed, and day-use visitors should be prepared to remove all trash they bring into the flood risk management project — including food waste, packaging, and other refuse — and dispose of it at home.

    USACE Baltimore District Strengthens Partnership with Veteran Foundation

    Following the conclusion of the 30-year Spring Valley Formerly Utilized Defense Site project in Washington, D.C., the Baltimore District donated an 80-by-40-foot steel building to the Hyner Lodge Foundation outside Lock Haven, PA, providing the foundation with a horse barn and storage facility that supports its programs for wounded, injured, and disabled veterans and their families.
