    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issues permit for proposed Sparrows Point Container Terminal

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District, on Dec. 18, 2025, issued its Section 404/10/408/103 permit decision for the Sparrows Point Container Terminal (SPCT) project, a joint venture between Tradepoint Atlantic and Terminal Investments Limited, to construct a new container terminal and associated facilities at the Port of Baltimore.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that it will reissue 56 existing nationwide permits and issue one new permit for work in wetlands and other waters that are regulated by Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and/or Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899.     Raystown Dam Flood Gate Systems Enter Latest Phase of Comprehensive Rehabilitation

    In May on Raystown Lake near Hesston, Pa., while visitors enjoyed recreational activities upstream, a diving operation was underway 170 feet below the surface where repairs continued to the 52-year-old structure that protects downstream communities along the Juniata and Susquehanna Rivers.
