In Baltimore’s Harbor and Channels, USACE Reaches from History to Hybrid Power

Two hundred years ago, the first Army engineers began carving the way for some of the earliest maritime traffic into Baltimore, opening waterways to commerce, beginning the initial discussions of Bay health and of ecological stewardship, and joining the rivers of the Bay’s ancient hydrography in etching a record of their presence across the region’s landscape as the Susquehanna, Potomac, Choptank, and Patapsco had long done. They do it still.

Baltimore District team behind the East Campus Building 2 project honored by industry award

Following the completion of an 846,114 square-foot, seven-story National Security Agency operations facility on Fort Meade, Maryland, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, and its partners were recognized by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) with the Marvin M. Black Partnering Excellence Award.

Baltimore District security team manages sensitive information, property for key partners in National Capital Region

Denise Hurt works from her office outside of Fort Meade, Maryland, the home base for her security team. The team, part of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Real Property Services Field Office (RSFO), handles high-level, unique security assignments for high-profile Department of Defense (DOD) agencies. In fact, their work is so specialized that RSFO is one of the only full-service project management shops in the federal government able to provide fully cleared personnel at the Top-Secret level and above.
