Aylesworth Creek Lake is a US Army Corps of Engineers dam control project with a drainage area of 6.2 miles. The project was operationally complete in October 1970 with the reservoir extending 4,600 feet upstream.
Location: The dam is located in Archbald Borough on Aylesworth Creek approximately 1.0 miles above its confluence with the Lackawanna River.
Authorization: The project was authorized by Flood Control Act of Oct. 23, 1962 (Public Law 87-874) and is described in Senate Document No. 141, 87th Congress, second session.
Facilities: The recreation area is operated and maintained by Lackawanna County. This 4-acre lake features a beach, picnic area and hiking trails and is located near East Jermyn, in Lackawanna County, about 10 miles upstream from Scranton on US 6.
