DESCRIPTION: Interested parties are hereby notified that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has prepared a draft Environmental Assessment (EA), draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI), and a draft Finding of Suitability to Transfer (FOST) regarding the Proposed Action described below.
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: This notice is being issued to all interested parties in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, the Council on Environmental Quality regulations for implementing the procedural provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act (40 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] Parts 1500-1508) and Environmental Analysis of Army Actions (32 CFR Part 651).
PROPOSED ACTION: The Proposed Action is an exchange of about 93 acres of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers held lands just east of the Utah Data Center for about 90 acres immediately adjacent to, and south of, the Utah Data Center. The purpose of the Proposed Action is to facilitate implementation of the Utah Department of Transportation’s Mountain View Corridor Transportation Project, reduce security risks to the Utah Data Center, and allow room for the potential future expansion of the Utah Data Center campus. An Environmental Baseline Survey (EBS) and a draft Finding of Suitability to Transfer (FOST) were completed and are provided in Appendix C and D, respectively, of the draft EA.
PUBLIC REVIEW: The draft EA, draft FNSI, and draft FOST will undergo a 30-day public comment period from July 1, 2022, through July 30, 2022, in accordance with Section 651.14 of 32 CFR Part 651, Environmental Analysis of Army Actions. During this period, the public may submit comments on the draft EA, draft FNSI, and draft FOST. The documents can be accessed online at
