Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

To send email comments to the respective Project Manager, click on the Project Manager's name below, or contact the Regulatory Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, 2 Hopkins Plaza., Baltimore, MD 21201. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

  • PN-25-31 NAB-2025-60328-E06 (Kraft/Stone Groin)

    Expiration date: 9/5/2025

    Comment Period: August 6, 2025 to September 5, 2025. Description: To remove 2 existing stone groins and then create one 98 LF L-shaped stone groin with 90CY of sand fill and one 35 LF stone groin to replace current groins to help protect the property’s beach.   • Former Waldorf Nike Site Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) Notification of Five – Year Review

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is conducting its First Five-Year Review for the former Waldorf Nike (W-44) Site, Launch Area in Waldorf, Maryland. The purpose of a Five-Year Review is to evaluate whether the remedial actions initiated in June 2021 remain protective of human health and the environment at sites where hazardous substances, pollutants or contaminants remain. Currently, USACE performs quarterly groundwater monitoring as part of ongoing performance monitoring activities. In addition, the Five-Year Review will make recommendations to address any issues if they are identified during the review.
  • Nationwide Permits Reissuance Request for Comments

    Expiration date: 8/2/2025

    Comment Period: June 18, 2025 to August 2, 2025. Description: On June 18, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) published in the Federal Register its proposal to reissue 56 existing nationwide permits (NWPs) and issue one new NWP.     Comment Period: June 16, 2025, to July 16, 2025.   • Notice of Availability of the Regional Streamflow Duration Assessment Methods for the Northeast and Southeast

    Comment Period Starts: June 12, 2025. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Baltimore, Buffalo, Charleston, Chicago, Detroit, Fort Worth, Galveston, Huntington, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Little Rock, Louisville, Memphis, Mobile, Nashville, New England, New Orleans, New York, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Savannah, St. Louis, Tulsa, Vicksburg, and Wilmington Districts, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 jointly announce the availability of the Regional Streamflow Duration Assessment Methods (Regional SDAMs) for the Northeast and Southeast (dated June 12, 2025). The methods are rapid assessment tools to help distinguish between ephemeral, intermittent, and perennial streamflow at the reach scale for the Northeast and Southeast SDAM Regions.
