Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

Submitting Comments:
To send email comments to the respective Project Manager, click on the Project Manager's name below, or contact the Regulatory Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, P.O. Box 1715, Baltimore, MD 21203-1715. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

PN 09-07 Curwensville Lake Project, Clearfield County, Pa. - 7/15/2015: The Baltimore District is examining ways to more effectively use water supply storage owned by the Susquehanna River Basin Commission at Curwensville Lake through modifications to the current water release operations plan. This investigation is at the request of the SRBC. Modified releases could help offset downstream consumptive water use during dry years and support stream ecosystem flow needs as determined by The Nature Conservancy.

SPN15-43 Issuance of the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load Regional General Permit (Bay TMDL RGP) for a five year period - 7/1/2015: SPN15-43 the comment period is July 01, 2015 – (Issuance of the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load Regional General Permit (Bay TMDL RGP) for a five year period) - 7/01/15: Description: The purpose of this special public notice is to inform you that the Baltimore District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load Regional General Permit (Bay TMDL RGP) authorizing regulated activities within the State of Maryland, the District of Columbia, and certain military installations in northern Virginia (Fort Belvoir, Fort Myer, and the Pentagon)."
