Equestrian Overview

The Equestrian Campground is located 1.5 miles above the reservoir and sets along Beaverdam Run. Campers must fill out a Letter of Agreement to camp at the Equestrian area. This agreement states: The participant must comply with State park rules and regulations and clean-up after the event. There is a pit toilet, picnic tables, and fire ring available for site use. Although sites are not individually squared off campers may set up wherever is good for them. There is no electric or running water available at the equestrian camping area. Water spigots down by the boat launch/beach area of the main park can be used for horse campers to fill up barrels. Campers may shower at the Lower Campground for a $4.00 fee per unit per day. Dogs or house pets are permitted at the equestrian camping area, but they must be leashed and attended to at all time. Pets cannot be left unattended while riders are off riding the trails. Campers may tie a rope around trees for fencing and horse grazing.
