Shy Beaver Boat Launch

Named by pioneers who knew Beaver roamed the nearby creek, but who could never find them; Shy Beaver is an excellent place to begin your weekend.  Shy Beaver is located on the southern end and offers access to some of the most scenic and relaxing sections of the lake. 

Location: Western shoreline, at the end of the cove between mile markers 21 and 22.
Directions:  From northbound Rt. 26 at Rt. 913, continue approximately 7 miles to the village of Cherrytown.  At the white church, turn right onto Shy Beaver Road towards Shy Beaver (marked by sign).  Continue on this road another 1.6 miles into Shy Beaver.Nestled in a cove away from main channel Shy Beaver is a great place to sit back and enjoy the views.

Parking space designations: Two (2) trailer-length spaces are designated for handicap parking only.  One (1) space is reserved for authorized vehicles only.  Single cars are permitted to park in trailer-length spaces.

Flooding:  The access road into Shy Beaver is prone to flooding during high water events.  This area may be closed during such cases.  For lake level information please click here.
