Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

To send email comments to the respective Project Manager, click on the Project Manager's name below, or contact the Regulatory Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, 2 Hopkins Plaza., Baltimore, MD 21201. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

  • PN 13-17 Walton Development & Management

    Expiration date: 5/3/2013

    Prince Georges County, Maryland: The purpose of the project is to provide access and infrastructure for residential and commercial development located in jurisdictional wetlands and unnamed tributaries that drain to Back Branch and in Back Branch, at the property known as the Westphalia Town Center, located northwest of the intersection of Melwood Road and Pennsylvania Avenue in Mellwood, Md.

  • PN 13-16 Stormwater Management Pond Maintenance

    Expiration date: 5/4/2013

    Howard County, Maryland: The purpose of the project is to remove accumulated sediment within the stormwater (SWM) management facility restoring its original wet storage depth of five feet and water quality capacities, thereby providing an improved SWM facility.

  • SPN 13-15: Action Granting Legal Authorities to Support the Protection of Military Assets During Force Protection Condition Charlie or Delta

    Expiration date: 4/30/2013

    Military Commanders are authorized by the District Commander to take actions as provided by law, regulation or directives to implement the actions outlined in Force Protection Condition Charlie or Delta when so ordered by competent authority. Areas include all military assets located in or adjacent to navigable waters of the United States in the State of Maryland, central Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, and the Cities of Alexandria and Arlington, and Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince Williams Counties, Virginia.

  • PN13-14: Lehigh Cement Company

    Expiration date: 5/17/2013

    Carroll County, Maryland: The purpose of this project is to facilitate the continuation and expansion of the existing mining operation at the Lehigh New Windsor Quarry; the modernization of the transport of lime stone to the Lehigh Cement Company in Union Bridge; and the continued operation of cement production at the facility.

  • PN13-13: Living Shoreline on the Potomac River

    Expiration date: 4/15/2013
