Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

Submitting Comments:

To send email comments to the respective Project Manager, click on the Project Manager's name below, or contact the Regulatory Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, 2 Hopkins Plaza., Baltimore, MD 21201. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

Fort George G. Meade Base Realignment and Closure Property Remedy Notification of Five-Year Review - 4/13/2016: This Public Notice is to inform the community of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) intent to conduct the 2016 Five Year Review (5YR) for Clean Fill Dump (CFD), Ordnance Demolition Area (ODA) and Tipton Airfield Parcel (TAP), all of which are Fort George G. Meade (Fort Meade) 1998 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) properties. CFD and ODA are located on the Patuxent Research Refuge-North Tract (PRR-NT), administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).

Study initiation notice, Limited Reevaluation Report for reauthorization of Washington D.C. and vicinity flood risk management project - 4/13/2016: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, is developing an updated Limited Reevaluation Report (LRR) to request project reauthorization for the Washington, D.C. and Vicinity Flood Risk Management Project. USACE is preparing a supplemental environmental assessment (EA) for the future work needed to complete this project. This supplemental EA will be incorporated into the final LRR for the DC Project. USACE is requesting pertinent agency information within 30 days of posting.
