    Washington Aqueduct releases year-long plan for repairs to the District’s original water conduit

    Washington Aqueduct crews will be conducting repairs to deteriorated sections of the utility's First Conduit, commonly referred to as the "Old Conduit", located under MacArthur Boulevard in Montgomery County, Maryland, starting late November 2023. Repair work will take place Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at various locations along the conduit which may result in lane closures along MacArthur Boulevard.

    Temporary road closure on MacArthur Boulevard during Cabin John Bridge maintenance

    Cabin John Bridge (Union Arch Bridge), located at the 7400 block of MacArthur Boulevard in Montgomery County, is scheduled to close Nov. 4-5 for necessary maintenance work performed by the Washington Aqueduct, a division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District. A street closure and detour will be in place both days from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is inviting the public to celebrate Raystown Lake’s 50th anniversary with a rare look inside the Raystown Dam. Guided tours will include access to the spillway and interior galleries, accompanied by Park Ranger presentations about lake history, facility operations and local heritage.
