    Army Corps, Prince George’s County sign partnership agreement, moving Anacostia Watershed restoration into construction phase

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District, and Prince George’s County Department of the Environment (DoE) signed a Project Partnership Agreement (PPA) for the Anacostia Watershed Restoration project during a ceremony at the county’s DoE headquarters in Largo, Maryland, Dec. 15, 2022. The PPA will usher in the construction phase of the project, which aims to restore a segment of the Anacostia Watershed within Prince George’s County that has suffered from years of environmental neglect.

    Raystown Lake announces Mountain Bike Skills Park, Allegrippis Trails seasonal closure

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, will close Raystown Lake's Mountain Bike Skills Park for the winter season on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022. The Skills Park is scheduled to reopen in April 2023 for the start of the new recreation season.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, has begun a controlled lake drawdown from summer pool elevation 786’ NGVD to a target of 8 feet below at 778’ NGVD, which will occur incrementally throughout the months of October and November.

    The area of Raystown Lake downstream of Mile Marker 1 has reopened to all boat traffic following critical inspections as part of major infrastructure rehabilitation project and the completion of the first phase of construction work on portions of the Raystown Dam’s mechanical equipment.
