Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

Submitting Comments:

To send email comments to the respective Project Manager, click on the Project Manager's name below, or contact the Regulatory Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, 2 Hopkins Plaza., Baltimore, MD 21201. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

    CANCELLATION of PN 22-12. The purpose of this public notice is to inform interested parties of the cancellation of public hearings scheduled for May 25, 2022 in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania and May 26, 2022 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania related to the subject project. This public notice also cancels solicitation of public comments related to the draft environmental assessment for the 83 South Bridge Replacement Project. Description: The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 8-0 and the Federal Highway Administration in cooperation with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, will conduct Joint Public Hearing on May 25, 2022 and May 26, 2022, for the 83 South Bridge Replacement project (also known as the John Harris Memorial Bridge Replacement project), located over the Susquehanna River in Dauphin and Cumberland Counties, Pennsylvania. Description: This draft PA sets forth the processes by which FHWA, and/or the USACE, will meet its responsibilities under Section 106, with the assistance of PennDOT, for transportation projects under the Federal-Aid Highway Program or which require USACE Permits.
