Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

Submitting Comments:

To send email comments to the respective Project Manager, click on the Project Manager's name below, or contact the Regulatory Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, 2 Hopkins Plaza., Baltimore, MD 21201. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

  • PN 13-21 NiSource/Columbia Gas Transmission

    Expiration date: 6/7/2013

    Baltimore County and Harford County, Maryland: Columbia Gas Transmission, LLC proposes to construct the Line MB Extension Project which extends an existing 26 inch diameter natural gas line for approximately 21.1 miles in Baltimore and Harford Counties. The project will involve crossing waterways and wetlands resulting in a temporary impact to 5,238 linear feet/57,152 square feet of waterways, and approximately 4.5 acres of nontidal wetlands.     Ocean City, Maryland: To construct a new bulkhead 9 feet channelward of the existing bulkhead and to install 5 floating platforms.

  • PN 13-19 Harbaugh/Miller Farm

    Expiration date: 4/24/2013

    Carroll County, Maryland: To construct shallow water area in a farmed wetland pasture. Permanent wetland impacts include approximately 82,000 square feet of fill for the dam, along with grading and excavation. POC: Mary Frazier @ 410-962-5679 or by email Mary.A.Frazier@usace.army.mil.

    Somerset County, Maryland: The purpose of the proposed project is to provide recreational water access and shoreline erosion control to protect existing living shoreline.     Prince Georges County, Maryland: The purpose of the project is to provide access and infrastructure for residential and commercial development located in jurisdictional wetlands and unnamed tributaries that drain to Back Branch and in Back Branch, at the property known as the Westphalia Town Center, located northwest of the intersection of Melwood Road and Pennsylvania Avenue in Mellwood, Md.
