Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

  • PN 09-07 Curwensville Lake Project, Clearfield County, Pa.

    Expiration date: 9/9/2015

    The Baltimore District is examining ways to more effectively use water supply storage owned by the Susquehanna River Basin Commission at Curwensville Lake through modifications to the current water release operations plan. This investigation is at the request of the SRBC. Modified releases could help offset downstream consumptive water use during dry years and support stream ecosystem flow needs as determined by The Nature Conservancy.

  • PN 23-06 Chesapeake Bay Oyster Recovery Project, Tred Avon River, Maryland

    Expiration date: 8/21/2015

    Public comments will be accepted from June 23, 2015 to July 24, 2015. The Baltimore District is expanding the scope of the supplemental environmental assessment (EA) for Tred Avon River oyster restoration initiated in 2013 to include planting of disease-free spat-on-shell, or oyster seed, from state-owned hatcheries, on new oyster reefs between 6 and 9 ft mean lower low water (MLLW), and on existing reefs/natural oyster bars between 4 and 20 ft MLLW. Planting of spat-on-shell will add minimal change to the existing height of the natural oyster reefs and will increase the proposed project area by an additional 71 acres.

  • PN 13-17 Walton Development & Management

    Expiration date: 5/3/2013

    Prince Georges County, Maryland: The purpose of the project is to provide access and infrastructure for residential and commercial development located in jurisdictional wetlands and unnamed tributaries that drain to Back Branch and in Back Branch, at the property known as the Westphalia Town Center, located northwest of the intersection of Melwood Road and Pennsylvania Avenue in Mellwood, Md.

  • PN 13-10: Taxiway Work on Joint Base Andrews

    Expiration date: 3/15/2013

    To remove the existing deteriorated taxiway and to construct a replacement taxiway that provides increased safety by meeting the current modified heavy load requirement for the taxiway.

  • PN 13-08 - Chateau Bu De, LLC - Trappe, Maryland

    Expiration date: 3/6/2013

    To create a living shoreline; emplace stone revetments; and to construct two stone groins.
