Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

Description: To maintenance dredge by mechanical method an approximate 25-foot (ft) wide by 540-ft long area within an existing entrance channel and a 100-ft wide by 150-ft long area at the end of the existing jetties to -5.0 feet mean low water resulting in approximately 900 cubic yards of appropriate grain sand to be deposited into an irregularly shaped 36-ft wide by 256-ft long beach area north of the existing jetties as beach nourishment as appropriate, to extend no more than 78 ft channel ward of the approximate mean high water shoreline. Description: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District (Corps) is considering renewal of a funding agreement with Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) under the authority of Section 214 of the Water Resources Development Act.
