Public Notices Overview

A Public Notice is prepared as the primary method of advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought and of soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable beneficial and detrimental impacts on the public interest.  Public notices are only prepared for projects determined to exceed minimal individual or cumulative adverse environmental effects and that may be contrary to the public interest.

Submitting Comments:

To send email comments to the respective Project Manager, click on the Project Manager's name below, or contact the Regulatory Branch, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, 2 Hopkins Plaza., Baltimore, MD 21201. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number. Please be sure to include the Public Notice Number or the Application Number on all correspondence to the District.

PN13-13: Living Shoreline on the Potomac River - 3/15/2013: To establish a living shoreline in the Potomac River, at 6915 Branitan Place, Bryan Road, Charles County, Maryland. PN13-12: Installation of a Living Shoreline in Cecil County - 3/14/2013: To stabilize 4,800 linear feet of eroding shoreline along the Northeast River by the installation of a living shoreline constructed of breakwaters, sills and sand. The structures would a maximum of 112 feet channelward from the approximate mean high water shoreline and impact 0.97 acres of the Northeast River. SPN 13-11: Action Granting Legal Authorities to Support the Protection of Military Assets During Force Protection Condition Charlie or Delta - 3/1/2013: Military Commanders are authorized by the District Commander to take actions as provided by law, regulation or directives to implement the actions outlined in Force Protection Condition Charlie or Delta when so ordered by competent authority. Areas include all military assets located in or adjacent to navigable waters of the United States in the State of Maryland, central Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, and the Cities of Alexandria and Arlington, and Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince Williams Counties, Virginia.

PN 13-09: Watershed Resources Registry Information Session - 2/15/2013: This notice informs the public of a new tool available to all intersted parties, called the Watershed Resources Registriy (WRR), and announces the date/time of a public information session (Baltimore, MD).

PN 13-10: Taxiway Work on Joint Base Andrews - 2/14/2013: To remove the existing deteriorated taxiway and to construct a replacement taxiway that provides increased safety by meeting the current modified heavy load requirement for the taxiway.
